David Davis BA(Hons), DipArch, MA(Sheffield), RIBA, MFPWS, MInstCS

Chartered Architect & Director

David studied at the University of Sheffield, going on to work in both the public and private sector before founding DJD Architects in 1987.

David works across all sectors of the business, including residential, care, commercial and industrial projects with particular expertise in facilities for the disabled and conservation projects. David also acts as a Party Wall Surveyor.

David is currently leading on a number of projects including several Paragraph 55 rural exception houses.

David sits on the Worcester Conservation Area Advisory Committee. He is also a Trustee of the Worcester Volunteers Centre.

Chartered Architect & Director

James has spent over ten years with the practice since completing his studies at university, having worked his way from Senior Assistant to Director.

Involved in a breadth of commercial, residential and domestic projects, James enjoys opportunities to influence project design at both the largest scale and in the smallest detail.

A natural inquisitiveness in how things work, alongside an interest in sustainability, and an appreciation of aesthetics, drives a design approach that is both rigorous and human.

James is an accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor for SAP and EPC of new build dwellings and has successfully completed the RIBA Principal Designer course.

Kevin Davis BA(Hons), MArch, RIBA, MFPWS

Chartered Architect & Director

Kevin studied Architecture and Town and Regional Planning at the University of Sheffield. Kevin worked in private practice on a variety of primary healthcare and secure projects before joining DJD Architects full time.

As well as being project architect for a range of private and affordable housing developments, mixed use and commercial projects, Kevin led on the upgrade of the high rise blocks in St Johns, Worcester.

Kevin is also a Party Wall Surveyor, Code for Sustainable Homes, Home Quality Mark, SAP and HQI Assessor. Kevin has successfully completed the RIBA Principal Designer course.

Kevin is a member of the Advisory Panel for the architecture course at the University of Coventry and Treasurer of the Worcestershire Society of Chartered Architects.

Matthew Adams BA(Hons) Interior Architecture, BA(Hons) Architecture, MArch, ADPPA, RIBA

Associate & Chartered Architect

Matthew has been involved with a range of residential, commercial and historic building projects, including the first rural exception house for which the Practice gained planning consent on the grounds of outstanding design.

Matthew has developed expertise in the design of specialised residential projects. Including, wheelchair accessible dwellings, assisted living accommodation for young adults with learning impairments, and environments for people with dementia. His architectural research continues to explore the design of buildings for people with physical, sensory and cognitive impairments.

Matthew is an accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor for SAP and EPC of new build dwellings, and has successfully completed the RIBA Principal Designer course. Matthew is also a governor of the Worcester Sixth Form College.

Ainslie Innes BArch, MArch

Senior Architectural Assistant

Ainslie joined DJD Architects after completing his Masters and graduating from the University of Dundee. Ainslie's previous experience at a London practice included work on a public sector project for Network Rail and a polo club for a private client.

At DJD Architects Ainslie is working on a new visitor centre for a local permaculture training charity, as well as residential new build and extension projects for private clients.

Ainslie has a keen interest in both architectural theory and history and how the two might be applied within contemporary practice.

Matthew Holmes BA (Hons), BSc (Hons)

Senior Architectural Assistant

Matthew joined DJD group after completing his postgraduate studies at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and his undergraduate degree at the University of Brighton.

Matthew has a second undergraduate degree in property development with quantity surveying and has experience working in a quantity surveyor's office in Swindon where he worked on a student accommodation and teaching facilitities development for Jesus College, Oxford.

Through his studies, Matthew has developed a keen interest in housing and is keen to create spaces for people that they can enjoy.

Angharad Rees BA(Hons)

Architectural Assistant

Angharad joined DJD Architects after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of the West of England, Bristol.

During her studies Angharad designed a kitchen garden education centre and has a keen interest in food sustainability, permaculture and landscape architecture.

Angharad's previous experience at a rural Welsh practice included work on domestic extensions, new builds and agricultural conversions for private clients.

Matthew joined DJD Architects after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of the West of England, Bristol.

Matthew’s previous experience at a timber frame company included work on small scale design and build projects and residential schemes for private developers.

Matthew has a keen interest in adapted and repurposed architecture. At DJD Architects Matthew is working on residential new build aprojects for private clients.

Junior Architectural Assistant

Lewis is undertaking the BA(Hons) Architecture course at Birmingham City University part-time whilst gaining real-world experience at DJD Architects.

Lewis is currently involved in a number of projects including domestic residential extensions and alterations, and assisting the rest of the team.

Interests include contemporary architectural design and landscape photography.

Sue has been with the Practice for over ten years, keeping the finances in good order and trying to do the same with the rest of us!

Project Co-ordinator

Amy joined to practice in 2018 and works as part of our project delivery teams to enhance the service we offer to our clients.

Amy is a fine art graduate and in addition to her other duties is updating our marketing and website and will be using her skills in architectural visualisations.
